Two years ago, we launched a pilot program for Jr Beekeeping here at the Lazy B Farm. It has been a huge success and now we’ve made it part of our Homesteading School. We now have GA’s first and only certified Jr Beekeepers! We want to keep this trend going.
What an amazing opportunity for these children to learn some life lessons, the least of which may be overcoming fears or obstacles. This course teaches them a life skill and yes, it is possible to make money with this hobby. If nothing else, it gives them something cool to talk about in a group. I mean really, how many kids do you know that are beekeepers? 🙂 This Jr Beekeeping course is for children 7 years old to 15.
This is a 20 hour course that meets every other Thursday from February to June with a celebration party on June 12th. Please be sure to check the class dates below before registering. We are not able to make up classes, nor do we give refunds for classes missed.
The cost of the 20 hour Jr Beekeeping Series is $200. To register for this course, click here.
We offer this unique course to only 10 students each year. It’s important to us that the children are safe and well supervised. Enrollment is based on a first come, first served basis.
