Sheep to Shawl

Lazy B Farm: Sheep to Shawl, is an annual festival in historic Statham, about 20 minutes west of Athens.  We’ll be shearing the Lazy B Farm sheep and an alpaca with electric shears and hand shears.  There will be vendors with beautiful hand crafted items for sale.  Demonstrations during the  event – blacksmithing, woodturning, spinning, knitting, carding, beekeeping, dog pulling,  the NE Tractor Club, and a children’s activity area.  Our local farms will be there with produce and wares to sell. The Statham Farmers Market and the Statham Dog Park will be selling hamburgers and hot dogs, proceeds benefitting the market and dog park.

 Come on out for a great agricultural family experience!

Schedule for the event:

10:00 am – gates open and demonstrations begin!

10:30 am – Shearing sheep with electric shears

11:30 am – Shearing an alpaca

12:30 pm – Shearing sheep with hand shears

1:15 pm – Grand Opening of the Statham Dog Park!

**Vendors and demonstrations will be available for the entire event.  Come on out and join the fun!
